- This now-sold vehicle was featured as a NO RESERVE - NO FEE Auction car through our premier online car bidding system -

This 1972 Porsch 911 E Sunroof Coupe features the original, numbers matching engine, less the mechanical injection system, and is a running / driving example that can be used as is, but could benefit from a restoration in the future. Currently the car has had a full tune-up with rebuilt carberators and new tires. The exterior and interior show natural wear for the age, but nothing that affects structural integrity (see photos for all details).

More details can be shared upon request for serious buyers.

Historical interest? In an effort to improve handling, 1972 was the first year that the engine's oil tank was relocated from rearward of the rear axle to in front of it. This was done to help with weight distribution by moving the weight of more than 9 quarts of oil towards to front of the car. Unfortunately this was scrapped after only one year due to inattentive gas station attendants.

Preservation? This is considered a drivers example and would greatly benefit from a restoration. It has a very solid foundation and would be a good candidate for a project.

Are there any marks on the car inside or out? As would be expected on a 45 year old car.

Any items missing? The original 2.4L MFI engine has been updated with a 3.2L carbureted engine.

Is wear and tear on the inside of any kind? Photos represent current condition.

Any trim coming loose or missing? None noted.

Any aftermarket parts on the car? Parts are consistent with factory Porsche specifications.

Any leaks from engine or transmission? Engine has some minor oil leaks. (its an air cooled Porsche...)

Other fluid leaks of any kind? None noted.

Is there rust present? Some corrosion noted on the underside of the car and in the trunk area. Some corrosion noted on the rocker panel area.

Any issues that have not been resolved? Can be used as is, but will in the future benefit from a restoration.

Has car ever been  repainted? The car appears to have been repainted previously.

Has the vehicle ever been damaged or in a collision? No evidence of a collision noticed.

Anything else you would like to tell buyers? Original numbers matching engine is available.
